Bar & restaurant deals 5/31: Drinking for breakfast

MICHAEL RIETMULDER | Updated 8/17/2012

If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, shouldn't you be allowed to enjoy it to the fullest? By that, of course, we mean have a drink or two. Now, now, hitting the sauce so early doesn't have to be sad -- everything in moderation, right? Let these deals lighten the mood at your next brunch.

Wild Onion

Regardless of the hour, no one likes a weak pour. Take matters into your own hands (literally) at the Wild Onion's pour-your-own Bloody Mary bar from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. weekends. Fix your Bloody up right for $3.50 per round and choose your own premium vodka, tequila or gin. But don't get carried away -- slurring your speech over French toast is a rookie mistake.

Stanley's Northeast Bar Room

We recognize boozing at brunch can be a slippery slope. Luckily, this pub's drink special has a built-in stop sign. From 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, take up to two Bloodies or mimosas for just a buck with your food purchase. After all, they can't have people throwing up in those immaculate urinals.

Cowboy Slim's

If you haven't participated in something called "kegs and eggs" since college (or ever), it's probably for the best. But sometimes a beer with breakfast is too tempting to pass up. Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., the Uptown cowboy bar packages its breakfast buffet and endless Budweiser pints for just $10. A Bud Diesel in the morning seems a little redneck, but it should (sigh) "git 'er done."
