Dashin' fashion
Aegis Foundation's annual High Heel Dash turns running in heels into a competitive sport. Prizes will be awarded to the top three dashers in a series of 25-yard races (heels 3 inches or higher!). Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $250 benefiting Project Healthy Smile, and the top fundraiser will win a prize valued at $1,000 from designer shoe line Stuart Weitzman. The event culminates with a "Zoolander"-esque walk-off on the runway. (4 p.m. registration, 6:30 p.m. dash. Wed. Target Plaza, 1070 Nicollet Mall, Mpls. aegisfoundationinc.org.)
Fightin' fashion
A fashion show for a good cause is always worth getting behind. With Fashion Fighting Stigma, the cause is twofold: supporting local fashion, and raising awareness of the connection between mental illness and homelessness. Hosted by the CW's Carly Aplin, the event will showcase the latest collections from local designers ArielSimone, Rachel Blomgren and Caroline Hayden alongside boutique segments from Motto, Primp and n'etc. (8 p.m. next Thu. $20-50. Landmark Center, 75 5th St., St. Paul. www.peopleincorporated.org.)
