416 CLUB COMMISSIONS: TED MOORE

7:30 p.m. • Cedar Cultural Center • $5 ($20 series pass)

The horizon-broadening Cedar is bringing back its 416 Club Commissions series for a second round. Funded by a grant from the Jerome Foundation, a panel selected seven local musicians to receive up to $2,500 to create unique, collaborative projects to be unveiled at the West Bank club. Composer Ted Moore kicks things off with an "Epic of Gilgamesh"-inspired piece, which utilizes a string quartet and live audio processing. Other works include a collaboration between Maria Isa Perez of Villa Rosa and Malamanya's Adriana Rimpel, and Miriam Gerberg's fusion of Turko-Arabic music with Javanese gamelan. MICHAEL RIETMULDER
