Behind the vintage

Wearing old clothes connects us to another era, and to their previous owners -- which the Minnesota Historical Society's "History of Hip" series will examine in "The Social Life of Secondhand Clothes." The discussion features two local experts: sociologist Nancy Fischer, who has done extensive research on vintage buyers and sellers, and Lula Vintage Wear owner Hayley Bush, who will talk about the psychological reasons behind wearing vintage. (7:30-9 p.m. Tue. $5. 21 & older. Turf Club, 1601 W. University Av., St. Paul. 651-259-3015.)
