SooVAC's "Get Lucky" Gala, Attendee Style
posted by elndahl in fashion

Some glitz and shine while not looking overly-formal. The maxi length skirt will work into spring. Very euro- or Scandi-chic. Clean, modern lines with edgy cuts. Very dapper, nice fit. A little Milan in Minneapolis. A good way to break up a single color: contrast shine and matte, pattern and solid. [...]

Voltage: the show will not go on
posted by jahna in fashion

Annual fashion-and-rock show Voltage: Fashion Amplified has been a staple of Twin Cities fashion since it debuted in 2004 at First Avenue. With creator and producer Anna Lee's widely unreported announcement at last year's show that it would be her last time producing the show and, in effect, the "last Voltage as we know it," it has proven to be the case. NOTE!! The shanties are only open weekends. The Strib/Vita.mn website and event the art shanties website, at quick glance, make it seem open all the time (and I think they have been in the past). But they're only open weekends. Learned the hard way on Monday. But they were still neat to look at, with no one there, guessing about the fun and festivities that probably went on last weekend and will likely go on this weekend! [...]
