Suicide Girls: Blackheart Burlesque Tour

Back in the early 2000s, the Suicide Girls — best known for their website full of tattooed and pierced nude pinup models — were pioneers of neo-burlesque performance. After a six-year hiatus, the Girls are back, bringing their nerd-girl brand of burlesque to stages across the country. Choreographed by Manwe Sauls-Addison (who has worked with Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson), the SG stripteases will satirize everything from nerd and cult classics like “Star Trek” and “Rocky Horror” to modern geek favorites like “The Avengers” and “Game of Thrones” (purportedly including a dance in Khaleesi garb). It’s a sure bet for Suicide Girls fans and pop-culture geeks alike. (9 p.m. Fri. 18 & older. $23-$565. Varsity Theater, 1308 SE. 4th St., Mpls. 612-604-0222 or www.varsitytheater.org.)

‘The Burlesque Assassins’ & L’Assassins

Burlesque stars hit the big screen as spy assassins in the Canadian indie film “The Burlesque Assassins,” making its Minnesota premiere. Starring striptease performers Amber Ray and Roxi D’Lite, the film follows bad-ass beauties as they knock off villains in a 1950s cabaret theater, set to a soundtrack of jazz and rockabilly. The premiere also gives the thriving local burlesque and rockabilly scenes a chance to sparkle, with a live set from all-girl band L’Assassins and performances by Queenie Von Curves and host Sweetpea. The screening will be preceded by a red carpet and cocktail hour with a who’s who in local burlesque. (7 p.m. doors, 8 p.m. show Fri. $15. Ritz Theater, 345 13th Av. NE., Mpls. 612-436-1129 or www.ritz-theater.org.)
