You can’t go wrong with First Ave on New Year’s Eve, where the Get Cryphy DJ crew will bring its signature blend of high-energy rap bangers. The Bachelor Farmer & Marvel Bar

The Nordic restaurant and its basement cocktail lair host a three-pronged party, starting with a 5-9 p.m. reception on the second floor with champagne, aperitifs and a string quartet from Musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra. If you can score a dinner reservation, the Bachelor Farmer is doing an $85 five-and-a-half-course menu with wine and cocktail pairings available. ‘Bedlam & the Beast’

The experimental Bedlam Theater teams up with In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre for a bash inspired by “Beauty and the Beast,” complete with papier mâché roses, pyrotechnics, pop-up puppetry and live music by the Brass Messengers. VIP ticketholders are invited to a Southern-style feast before the show (7 p.m., $100) that includes open bar and live performances, including a five-minute retelling of the Disney classic.
