Another day, another taproom

Steel Toe Brewing opens its St. Louis Park taproom today.

Two new Twin Cities taprooms in the same week? Yes, it's been a good couple of days for local beer lovers.

After 612Brew debuted its northeast Minneapolis taproom Wednesday, a west metro brewery is adding a pint-pouring post to its existing brewery. St. Louis Park's Steel Toe Brewing kicks off its taproom hours from 3-10 p.m. Friday and will be open from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. Starting next week, 3-8 p.m. Thursday hours will be added.

Proving that Steel Toe's workboot logo is no branding gimmick, owner Jason Schoneman built the taproom into the brewery himself (blood, sweat and beers?). Since opening in 2011, Steel Toe has established itself as one of the metro's most well-rounded breweries, with four diversely satisfying year-round brews.
