This knockout psychological drama by first-time director/co-writer Miguel Cohan tells three stories as three principal characters each go down a treacherous path. In Buenos Aires, a tattoo artist fixes his bike in the road and a driver hits his bike. Moments later, a teenager takes out the bike and the man. When the father of the victim (an intense Federico Luppi) looks for the perpetrator(s), an unnerving thriller begins. What could have fallen into dopey “Crash” territory doesn’t, due to Cohan’s slick direction. His film never turns into syrupy melodrama, and the consequences are honest and surprising.
