Kristin Chenoweth

Tony-winning Broadway leading lady and Emmy-winning TV star Kristin Chenoweth has had a long love affair with country music. Last year, the Oklahoma native finally got around to making her first country album, “Some Lessons Learned,” with producer Bob Ezrin (Alice Cooper, Kiss, Peter Gabriel). In a breathy voice that suggests Dolly Parton without the overwhelming vibrato, Chenoweth exercises her country chops on the twangy gallop “I Didn’t” and the uptempo, gospel-tinged “What Would Dolly Do,” but often, especially on such ballads as “What If We Never,” she leans on her “Glee” and Broadway instincts.
