Los Lonely Boys and Ozomatli
Two veteran Minnesota Zoo bands from different ends of the Latino rock realm, Los Lonely Boys and Ozomatli will combine for what could easily be the zoo’s rowdiest, wildest show of the season. The Tex-Mex, blues-rocking Lonely Boys — best-known from the 2004 radio staple “Heaven” — boast Texas’ biggest guitar hero since Stevie Ray Vaughan, Henry Garza. Los Angeles’ hip-hop-spiked, funk-blasting party band Ozomatli have their own Lone Star-sized reputation after being arrested during the South by Southwest festival a few years back for creating what Austin police called a street riot. That they were invited back to SXSW for a free outdoor gig this year speaks volumes. Chris Riemenschneider
