Famous Dave's BBQ and Blues Festival
With construction set to begin soon at Orchestra Hall, the 8th annual Famous Dave’s BBQ & Blues Festival has moved down Nicollet Mall, between 3rd and 4th Streets. Saturday’s two-stage lineup will be as smokin’ as ever. Veteran blues-rock guitarist Walter Trout, who cut his teeth with Canned Heat and John Mayall, headlines at 9 p.m. He’ll be preceded at 7 p.m. by Charlie Musselwhite, the versatile harmonica giant. Don’t miss some of Minnesota’s finest: Rochester belter Sena Ehrhardt (1:30 p.m.), the Twin Cities’ wildly entertaining proponents of New Orleans jazz and soul, Davina & the Vagabonds, and Duluth’s folk-blues savant Charlie Parr (6:30 & 8:30 p.m), who sounds like the long lost child of Leo Kottke and Spider John Koerner.
