The New Standards

The rare act that can go over as well at the fair as at the Dakota or First Avenue, jazz-pop revisionists the New Standards will kick back with their usual favorite cover songs (Arcade Fire, Britney Spears, etc.) in an otherwise busy week for its local-veteran singers. Chan Poling also plays with the Suburbs at the zoo on Thursday, and John Munson performs with Semisonic at the grandstand right after the Standards’ first two-fer. Chris Riemenschneider
