Red Stag Block Party

Perhaps another reason ticketed festivals can’t sell enough tickets: Free lineups like the one at the sixth annual Red Stag Block Party, featuring a bunch of arty but popular local bands — plus the tribute group All Tomorrow’s Petty for guilty pleasure — along with affordable local grub and suds in a hip neighborhood setting. Songwriterly folk-rock favorites Rogue Valley, the Honeydogs, Romantica and Chastity Brown will share the stage with wicked hip-hop Kill the Vultures (who are working on a new album), rocking showwoman Mayda and retro folk/blues howler Jack Klatt & the Cat Swingers with special guest Dakota Dave Hull. Heart of the Beast puppeteers and Epitome-No Question dancers will add to the people-watching. The zero-waste event benefits Youth Farm Market. Chris Riemenschneider
