REVIEW

Chef Swamy Mariyadas starts his menu with eggplant fritters, spicy bits of grilled chicken paired with a cool mint chutney, a pastel-tinted shrimp-pomelo salad and puffy saffron-scented naan. Entrees include a long list of robust lamb, chicken and shrimp stews, served in small copper pots and paired with delicate rice, along with specialties such as a paper-thin rice and lentil crêpe stuffed with potatoes and onions, and a host of meat-free options. Lunch is an all-you-can eat buffet, and because the restaurant is a short walk to Orchestra Hall and the Orpheum Theatre, Mariyadas prepares a pair of four-course pre-theater dinners that start at a very reasonable $23 for a vegetarian option and go up to $37 for a meat-seafood option with a glass of wine. The small wine list offers 10 moderately priced choices by the bottle and the glass, and there's a full bar.
