FRIDAY

Envision: Artopia

Going strong since 2008 and boasting a lineup of 11 Twin Cities designers and boutiques, this bi-annual event is certainly the biggest show in town to showcase local fashions. This fall, the two-part runway show features fall collections from designers like Amanda Christine and K.Jurek and stores including Roe Wolfe, martinpatrick3, Local Motion, Drama, Cliché and Atmosfere. It promises a see-and-be-seen crowd, a VIP reception (8 p.m.), an always-over-the-top finale from Cliché and more. (10 p.m. Fri. $25-$75. Graves 601 Hotel, 601 1st Av. N., Mpls. www.envisionmpls.com.)

SATURDAY

Vintage Did It First

Trend is fleeting, but vintage never goes out of style. That's the concept behind Blacklist Vintage's in-store showcase of vintage looks inspired by fall's runways. Owner Vanessa Messersmith will re-create classic styles in fresh new looks, offering comparisons between vintage outfits and corresponding designer looks from Prada, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and others. The event includes drinks from Icehouse and 20 percent off storewide. Space is limited, so arrive early. (8 p.m. Sat. $5. Blacklist Vintage, 25 E. 26th St., Mpls., 612-141-4932.)

TUESDAY-NEXT THURSDAY

The Shows

The MNfashion-produced "Shows" offer individual runway shows from some of the Twin Cities' top designers. Tuesday's headliner is Christopher Straub of "Project Runway" fame, who says his spring 2013 collection will include "vibrant teals, custom floral prints and my signature use of textural techniques." Emma Berg's collection next Thursday favors black, white and grey tones and light, draped fabrics. Other designers include Lindsey Hopkins, (a 2011 winner of Elle magazine's Fashion Next student competition) on Tuesday, Adrienne Yancy and Marissa Bridges on Wednesday and Samantha Rei next Thursday. (7 p.m. Tue.-next Thu. $15-$25. Grain Belt Bottling House, 79 13th Av. NE, Mpls. www.mnfashion.org.)
