Deals: Infinite tap lists

Drink up savings at these tap-happy bars.

New Bohemia Wurst & BierHaus in northeast Minneaqpolis has 34 craft beers on tap.

Excess is the American way. No matter how much we have, we always want more. Those exorbitant desires spill into beer bars, too, leading to near infinite tap lists (of course, there are worse things in life than mile-long beer towers). Revel in these sprawling beer lists without going broke during happy hour.

New Bohemia

233 E. Hennepin Av., Mpls. • 612-331-4929 • www.newbohemiausa.com

In the grand scheme of things, New Bohemia’s 32 tap lines aren’t that indulgent, but they can make for difficult choices. The sausage and beer shack’s 3-6 p.m. daily and 10 p.m. to midnight Sunday-through-Thursday happy hours, when roughly half are just $3, can help narrow the field.

Republic Seven Corners

221 Cedar Av. S., Mpls. • 612-338-6146 • www.republicmn.com

It seems the founders of this Republic, too, believe in protecting life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. As long as it can be achieved through beer, at least. Live the good life daily from 4-6 p.m. and 10 p.m.-midnight when its 50-plus tap beers are $2 off. Need a break from beer? Rails and house wines are $3.

Williams Uptown Pub & Peanut Bar

2911 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. • 612-823-6271 • www.williamsminneapolis.com

This Uptown beer emporium takes its tap roster to the extreme, offering more than 70 draft beers in its basement bar. Explore the American-made options on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to midnight, when stateside taps are $3 (a simultaneous $6 burger special is equally patriotic). From yellow fizzy Coors Light to Black Butte Porter, this is the melting pot of beer specials.
