Trampled By Turtles covers Arcade Fire It's a good time to be Trampled By Turtles (the band, that is). Fresh off a "Letterman" performance, the Duluth pickers were invited into the A.V. Club's Chicago headquarters for its "Undercover" series. TBT choose Arcade Fire's "Rebellion (Lies)" (from that group's landmark "Funeral" LP) off the list of remaining possible covers. [...] |

Watch Polica play 'Fallon' Polica made its network television debut last night on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." The local experimental pop act went with the song "Leading to Death" off its debut LP, "Give You The Ghost." For a national audience largely unfamiliar with the group, some might have mistaken Polica for a lady hipster take on Michael McDonald. [...] |

Finally: Bon Iver erotic fan fiction Despite detractors ragging on his looks, it seems plenty of folks still have the hots for Bon Iver. Photos of the woodsy Wisconsin indie-king, with accompanying erotic-lit, are being compiled at boniverotica.tumblr.com. Here's a spicy taste: "Today Bon Iver wrapped me in his flannel, which smelled like charred pine and licorice, and took me outside to show me a perfect spiderweb." Bon Iver (aka Justin Vernon) is proving to be a highly meme-able celeb, as evidenced by the post-Grammy Bonny Bear hysteria from just two months ago. [...] |

Trampled By Turtles plays 'Letterman' In case you missed it, Duluth favorites Trampled By Turtles made their network television debut last night on "The Late Show with David Letterman." The bluegrass quintet played a lively version of "Alone," a cut off their highly-regarded new album "Stars and Satellites." Letterman is prone to gushing over his music guests, but he and musical director Paul Shaffer were especially liberal with the praise after TBT's performance. [...] |

Rock the Garden reveals 2012 lineup 89.3 the Current and Walker Art Center released the 2012 Rock the Garden lineup this afternoon, with the Hold Steady and Tune-Yards serving as the national headliners. Heavyweight locals Howler, Doomtree and Trampled by Turtles will also perform. Considering the June 16 festival is already sold-out, the hoopla surrounding the unveiling process seemed a bit goofy. | A fizzle?! I have been to First Avenue numerous times to watch the black keys and saw them at Roy Wilkins, I felt it was their best show yet. Cage the elephant was bad but the black keys played a ton of fan favorites from their original cd's, not just the top 40 stuff that most people know now.Two thumbs waaaaay down. [...] |
