Cody Chesnutt

9 p.m. • Triple Rock • 18-plus • $17-$20

A decade ago Cody ChesnuTT broke out with a sex-soaked double album that had major labels circling the neo-soul man. But then the Atlanta-born songwriter disappeared to do the family thing, repenting the infidelity his rock ’n’ roll lifestyle spawned. After a 2010 EP teaser, ChesnuTT dropped his sophomore album, “Landing on a Hundred,” a rollicking soul-rock LP recorded with a 10-piece band. Boosted by brawny funk and vintage R&B, the helmet-sporting singer/guitarist’s comeback is official.Michael Rietmulder

Umphrey’s McGee

9 p.m. • First Avenue • 18-plus • $27.50-$30

Umphrey’s McGee is celebrating 15 years together. The Chicago sextet that jams together never plays the same set list twice but always delivers live. It’s mostly original material, with teases from such rock classics as “Cheap Sunglasses,” “Black Magic Woman” and “Two Tickets to Paradise.” At least, those were last week’s goodies. Good vibes, good times. Jon Bream
