Venue reviews
Not that cheap
It's not real cheap... almost every entree is over $10. The Patio is nice in the summer, but the food I've ordered has been a little hit or miss. I was really impressed with the Buffalo Chicken Salad I had last time I was there.
I find it funny that they've got a Vietnamese sandwich that costs twice as much as you'd pay on Eat Street, but it's not bad. The Mac and Cheese is popular.
I'd guess that Olson does a lot to help keep them in business.

Seems like a step up
I found this place to be a tastier than the Mexican I've had north on Kmart on Nicollet.
The menu, atmosphere and pricing are similar to what you'd find nearby Mexican places, but if you are sick of lettuce thinning out your guacamole, or just not finding the flavors you want, I'd try this place.
They've got a useful website as well.

Tasty
This place is as good as you've heard. They do everything the way you'd want. Here's the web site:

Worth a try
I hadn't heard great reviews, but I definitely felt that it was better then expected. Some friends and I stopped in for Happy Hour last night and took advantage of the half priced appetizers and taps. The service was good. The food seemed a little hit or miss, but the "Pit Barbecue" they advertise with the neon sign was really good. We've all got our favorite menu items, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Tap House beat out the Herkimer and Bulldog overall based strictly on the food. They don't have as many beers as the Bulldog and people will fault them for calling it a "Tap House", but the list was long enough for my tastes.
As far as atmosphere and clientele, you're going to see a lot of crossover between the Tap House, the Herkimer and the Bulldog on Lyndale. They're obviously in competition with one another, but personally I wouldn't want to visit any of these places on a Friday night. I'll explain this with the fact that someone had obviously punched a hole through the sheet rock at eye level above the stall in the men's restroom. If you're the type of dude that does this type of thing, I'd urge you give The Lyndale Tap House a shot.
(note to Vita.mn staff: I'd add a "The" to this location name.)

Still good in the new location
I have to recommend their Reuben sandwich and they've got a great beer selection. They do Beer Flights so you can try out some at the higher end and find your favorite. If you spend a few bucks, they validate parking in the lot behind it, but not in the ramp.
They've changed the seating/stage situation over the summer and it's a great improvement. I really wish it was still in my neighborhood, but that's my only problem with the place.
NOTE: All of the pictures on vita.mn related to this entry was taken at their previous location, so don't get confused if you go and it doesn't look like this. ;-)

I only run one account around here for simplicity's sake, but I have considered starting some others for nefarious purposes.
All these Italian restaurants are really jerks about the name thing.
On the drink front, I find it's not that hard to get one if you go back to the musicless side of the place and use the bar over there.
When I first read it I assumed they'd just changed it on facebook temporarily because they were doing a "Rock the Cause" event or something.
Seems like an unfortunate name change, but I assume it saved them money in terms of switching the sign and such. I guess they had to do it because Sauce Pizza & Wine was suing them.
I'm just sitting here patiently waiting for the Uptown Bar to rise from the ashes there and show "Cause" how it's done.
Work it out and let us know...

Also, I'm confused by this proposal to see a movie afterward when the facebook event says 9-2am... They don't even have midnight movies at ICON.
