Venue reviews
Visited Seven for the first time last night, just for a drink or two. Enjoyed the layout, lighting, and general ambiance - it's perfect for people watching and lounging. My budding satisfaction came to a screaching halt when the two glasses of champagne we ordered totaled $36. Another friend paid $15 for a scotch rocks. One drink and we were out. Sorry, but if you want a younger, hip crowd to show up on a nightly basis you'll have to do better than that. One thing that is sure to pop, however, is the rooftop patio this summer - the views are breathtaking - you're right in the middle of all downtown. Just need to stand on the corner and beg for money before I go again.
yes, you should
I go dancing there every weekend - both the front and back rooms.
all-time fav spot for wine and pals
Love having a glass of wine or three at this warehouse district, hidden treasure. Superb lighting, friendly and easy-going staff, quick and yummy eats and a completely acceptable beer/wine/bubbly selection. I think they serve a full bar now? If you're lucky, you'll hit Bev's when the weather is ripe for a table on the loading dock-style patio, overlooking downtown Mpls. It's also fabulously cozy in the winter months when you're holed up next to the candles with a special someone as it's a very romantic spot. Rating: *****
Wow
Some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The peanut sauce is perfectly done - not too rich, perfectly light and creamy. The green curry is quite different from most, but I can nearly finish the entire family-style portion myself. The oyster mushrooms are fab, although I miss the original calamari they used to serve back in the day. Add in the underground ambiance, DJ's every night after 10pm, and friends and it's really one of my most perfect nights on the town. Oh!..and the cocktails (and bartenders) are really quite nice as well. Rating: ****
mmmm, good
Love the breakfast at Hell's Kitchen (despite the incredibly long waits). Homemade jams and peanut butter, sausage bread, eggs bene...it's all so worth the prices. And, if it's nice out I love to read the paper with coffee or stroll Nicollet Mall until my little buzzer lets me know it's time to chow down. Rating: ***

I'll be seeing Strawberry Shortcakes tonight and plenty more over the weekend...
The Vita.mn party bus is really quite fabulous. A 1949 silver Greyhound, modified with a 70's-style bed in the back, surrounded by a U-shaped couch, as well as few rows of original seats. A spot for a DJ makes this experience so much silly fun, you'll want to ride it again and again and again. The bus was the original tour bus for Minneapolis band - The Suburbs - as well as an 18-peice traveling jazz band before them. Vita.mn user, Aurinko, was lucky enough to bring along a group of friends in the Party Bus after winning a Kharma contest - and I know she had a blast, as did her friends.
seeing all of these smart, attractive, "normal" singles gave me hope again...hope that there are actually people out there that i'd consider hooking up with. the only options so far have been douchebags humping me from behind on any given dance floor. ew.
we'll have some blini and perogie waiting for you....

Spoke to Josh's people - he'll be in Europe shooting a movie, boo-hoo.
