I've been going to the Kitty off and on for the last 6 years.
It's one of the better places in the cities overall. And can be quite different on any given night. I liked this place so much I even modeled a room after it in my apartment -- the kitty cat room.
The past many months I've been hosting monthly parties there and it's always a good time -- laid back and diverse crowd + atmosphere.   Rating: ****

The Kitty Kat Club is a great place to hang out with a close group of friends. They've got a wide variety of seating areas including comfy couches and an outdoor patio to lounge in. Its fun and relaxed atmosphere make for a great way to spend your weekend nights, especially if you're looking for a break from the typical college bars that are in the area. Yes, it is more expensive than a night at the Library or at Sally's, but it's so worth it.   Rating: ****

I used to go there and study. I'm not a U student, so yes it was a little bit out of my way. I can't remember what lured me there in the first place. Drink specials? Musical talent? A random meeting between me and some friends?
What surprised me the most though was that i was able to study there. Ive never been very successful at getting anything done with music in the background and a party of ten at the table next to me. but that is where they struck gold with their ambiance. Intimacy is mixed with a very social atmosphere and neither aspect is compromised.   Rating: *****

I fell in love with this place the first time I went in. They make a great martini, have a great beer and wine selection and the most comfortable seeting you find at a "bar".
The noise level of some of the muscial acts can be a bit much at times but I think generally the groups that play there are not out to burst an ear drum.
It's perfect place to bring a group of friends for some good conversation, good food, good drinks and maybe even a little pool!   Rating: *****

This is a great place to lounge with a group of people you know--meeting new people seems to be hard as the crowds try to be exclusive.   Rating: ***

Vita.mn doesn't list it's music events but Kitty Kat Klub has live music and if you want to see the schedule jump over to their website.

Dinkytown has some of the worst but also some of the best hang out spots in Minneapolis. The Kitty Cat Klub is a laid back lounge with a lovely atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Although it's a little more expensive than the Library (bleh) down the block, the experience is much more pleasant and you won't have to fight frat row to get to the bar. There's also some good music there but expect a cover of $5 or so. Decent patio space but expect it to be crowded on a nice night.   Rating: ****

I wish I had a photo booth in MY apartment!.. Its worth going to Dinkytown for, I like the Atmosphere here, nice and comfy.. If you go on the right night, you may actually get in on a little show.   Rating: ****

I love the Kitty Cat Klub. Every time I come there, something magic is in the air. It's the place for people watching.
As well as, social scoring. When your ship arrives . . meaning $, $, -bling, bling. So you can relax.- Make a B-line to the Kitty Cat Klub. And be sure to pile on the appetizers. Oysters, etc. etc. Kid stuff all around. But swank for any age. Dig.
